This account is the official account for the Create a Comic Project. As such, it operates under limitations. I only fave artwork that I am/plan to use in the project. And since the project is for all-ages, I do not, as a rule, fave artwork that wouldn't be appropriate for children. (One exception: if the art can be easily modified into a child-safe state.)
Another reason I won't fave a piece is because, while I would like to use it for the project, I wouldn't be able to. Biggest reason for this are watermarks. I don't use art with big watermarks since those come out in print and basically make the templates look meh. I understand why artists use them, but I really don't have the time it takes to remove watermarks from templates to make them usable.
Another reason is free floating text on the image. I remove all text from art and comics to let kids fill in their own. But if the image has text outside a word-bubble covering it, it can be as time consuming as watermarks to remove. Word bubbles are my friend.

RAMSCon
I'm running my own convention: RAMSCon! It's a small one-day affair. The best part is Tiffany Grant is the guest and she'll be doing a panel.

Voting for SXSW 2012!
I've submitted a proposal for SXSW Interactive 2012: http://panelpicker.sxsw.com/ideas/view/9447
Public voting for it has begun. Please go there and vote it up! The competition this year is even more heated than before!
SXSW Interactive 2011
Here the details on my presentation:
Name: Interactive Comics: Techniques to Enhance Math Education
When: 5-6 PM, Friday, March 11
Where: Rio room, Hilton Garden Inn, 500 N IH 35
I don't get to present at the main site (the convention center), but I'm hoping interested folks will make the trek of a couple blocks.
My presentation is in pretty good shape. I'm sprinkling a variety of webcomic templates throughout to add a bit of pizazz to the slides. It helps that everything I'm presenting on is material I've discussed before, though never all at once like this. Overall, I think it'll go well!
SXSW 2011!
The Create a Comic Project will be giving a presentation at SXSW Interactive 2011 in March! This is a major milestone for the project and a fitting way to celebrate its coming 5th year. More details as I have them.
