I'm running my own convention: RAMSCon! It's a small one-day affair. The best part is Tiffany Grant is the guest and she'll be doing a panel.

Voting for SXSW 2012!I've submitted a proposal for SXSW Interactive 2012: http://panelpicker.sxsw.com/ideas/view/9447
Public voting for it has begun. Please go there and vote it up! The competition this year is even more heated than before!
SXSW Interactive 2011Here the details on my presentation:
Name: Interactive Comics: Techniques to Enhance Math Education
When: 5-6 PM, Friday, March 11
Where: Rio room, Hilton Garden Inn, 500 N IH 35
I don't get to present at the main site (the convention center), but I'm hoping interested folks will make the trek of a couple blocks.
My presentation is in pretty good shape. I'm sprinkling a variety of webcomic templates throughout to add a bit of pizazz to the slides. It helps that everything I'm presenting on is material I've discussed before, though never all at once like this. Overall, I think it'll go well!
SXSW 2011!The Create a Comic Project will be giving a presentation at SXSW Interactive 2011 in March! This is a major milestone for the project and a fitting way to celebrate its coming 5th year. More details as I have them.
Otakon 2010Here's info on the Otakon 2010 event:
Make a Manga Tournament!
When: 7-10 PM, Saturday, July 31
Where: Workshop 1
Show up early since there'll only be one this year and the room fills up FAST. Judges for the event will include :iconkuroitenshi13:, :iconsailorptah:, :iconshinigamieon:, and Kittyhawk from SGVY.
I'll be at the ASHN meetup with :iconsailorptah: as usual and helping out with an 18+ workshop Friday at 10:30 PM in Workshop 2 with :iconstrawberrygina: and :iconjennieb:.
How this account worksThis account is the official account for the Create a Comic Project. As such, it operates under limitations. I only fave artwork that I am/plan to use in the project. And since the project is for all-ages, I do not, as a rule, fave artwork that wouldn't be appropriate for children. (One exception: if the art can be easily modified into a child-safe state.)
Another reason I won't fave a piece is because, while I would like to use it for the project, I wouldn't be able to. Biggest reason for this are watermarks. I don't use art with big watermarks since those come out in print and basically make the templates look meh. I understand why artists use them, but I really don't have the time it takes to remove watermarks from templates to make them usable.
Another reason is free floating text on the image. I remove all text from art and comics to let kids fill in their own. But if the image has text outside a word-bubble covering it, it can be as time consuming as watermarks to remove. Word bu
NYC AdventureI'm currently in NYC. I'll be using the project as part of a tutoring program. I may also have monthly sessions with children from families of other graduate students living on campus.

Updates as of October2009: Missing Halloween's story was created. Discontinued.
2010: Attempted to rework in 3D. Failed. Discontinued.
2013: Revived and started the animation production. Didn't reach Halloween. Hiatus.
2014: Resumed and held a contest. Didn't reach Halloween. Hiatus.
2015: Resumed. Missing Halloween didn't miss Halloween!
For the past month, me and Negyek were hard at work, day and night, to finish Missing Halloween. Later on, Procrastacat and VenBright were hired to give various voices for the ending scene. All of these are, of course, paid jobs, thanks to my Patreon supporters.
By November 29, the animation is officially done. All 8+ minutes of it.
I’ve realized over the years that I can’t draw everything myself, and I’ve damaged my hands by trying to draw all of my comics on my own. My followers are always asking when the next chapter of Fisheye Placebo or Knite is coming out, and it always pains me to say not yet. I can’t draw for more than a few hours a day now before the pain sets in.
I’m still determined to finish the comics I started, but I know I’m going to need help. I’ve been dabbling in 3D backgrounds for Fisheye Placebo, but I still had to build them myself, which is very time consuming and damaging to my hands in different ways.
I’ve been thinking a lot and I want to move my comic creating techniques to the next level and incorporate both 3D characters and 3D backgrounds. I’m not the most skilled when it comes to 3D programs, and I don’t have the time or health to create all the models myself, so I am looking

Notes on Character Design
I received the question pictured below at my tumblr blog. In case it's useful to anyone here, I decided to go ahead and use this otherwise dormant journal to share the article I put together in response.
Character design and drawing are tome-sized topics and even if I had all the answers (I don't - I have a lot to learn), I'm not sure I could communicate them effectively. Here are some thoughts an ideas that might help, though.
First, some general things...
Let some of that anxiety go. This isn't a hard science. There's no wrong way,
CrimsonColt7 Harassment Warning: SUPER IMPORTANT!!Take a deep breath, this is a LONG post.
There is a guy hunting around deviantArt and has been trying to scam people out of their artwork. He is named CrimsonColt7(I'm trying to avoid tagging him. If he finds this, he has to be searching for it). This guy has an incredibly false sense of entitlement, and if you decline his request, he basically tries to blacklist you on his profile and will harass you.
The point of this is to bring forth a ton of the incriminating evidence of his harassment from other people who have had problems with him. That way, anyone can spread this journal around and hopefully prevent anyone else from falling prey to his scheming.
It will almost always start out exactly like this:
Screencap by scificat
WHAT HE DOES
・Asks for a trade/collab ・
・If you tell him to commission instead, he claims he has no access to paypal ・
